The first
thing that you need when you do something new is information. Finding reliable sources of
useful information is at best difficult and sometimes impossible. When I first started
collecting I spent a lot of time and money trying to find out about Fountain Pens and many
of the lessons that I learned were expensive. This is a list of books, publications, and
sale catalogs that I think you will find useful. The list is in no way to be considered
complete. They are references that are not overly specialized and should be useful to most
collectors. I do not sell books but many of the references listed here are available at
