The Depression years were hard on all of the fountain pen companies. One way that they used to stay in business was to produce a less expensive line of pens. Conklin produced the All American pens. The nibs are smaller and lighter than the typical Conklin nib. They are marked All-American and the barrel imprint is the same. These come in a number of colors and patterns. Many of the colors are unique to the line. Others are plastics that were left over from earlier models. Flat top models seem to be the most common but tapered models are also found. The bottom pen is a pump filler that looks more like a prototype for the standard Conklin line of pens.
