They are made of a plastic that has wide bands of mottled plastic separated by narrower bands of the same plastic. The look is very distinctive. They also have sections that are visulated and have the same plastic at the front of the visulated portion. They do not have a bottom jewel but are more tapered at the bottom than the flat bottom Esterbrooks. The top jewels are of two types. The most interesting is a domed shaped metal jewel that is imprinted Esterbrook. They also come with the more familiar three ribbed black plastic jewel. Models are JR - Red, J - Black, JQ - Gray, JL - Blue, JE - Green, and JN - Copper. There is a variety that is made of the same plastic. It is slightly shorter and has a standard black section. The caps and bodies are not interchangeable with the visulated varieties. Ten pencils called Pushmaster Pencils and are found in the same colors as the pens. The penclis cost $1.50 . In 1941 they were priced at $1.50 with your choice of Durachrome nibs.
