Coronet

Coronet - Open

Wahl-Eversharp Coronet - This pen is generally accepted to be the most Art Deco pen of the period. The design is very eye catching and stands out from the other pen companies and their products. The design and marketing attempted to push this model more into the realm of the jewelry market. They come in solid gold filled pens and in plastic pens with gold filled caps. These are very well made pens and they seem to be less prone to damage than most metal pens.

Adjustable Nib Safety Shut Off

Gimmick Features - Like many of the other pens of the period the Coronet incorporated a number of gimmicks. The Visulated Section is very useful in checking out the level of ink in your pen. The Adjustable Nib is a really nice option. By moving the slide up and down the nib you adjust the flexibility of the nib. The picture shows the first type of slide. The second variety is wider and is open in the middle. The next little gimmick is the Safety Ink Shutoff. It is the little L shaped piece shown in the right picture under the feed. It was suppose to shut off the ink when the cap was on and stop leaks. This feature did not work and was dropped.

Coronet Pencil - Blue

Coronet Pencils - These are available in models that match the pens and there are varieties that do not match any of the pen models. They all have the plastic insets in the top button and the Coronet style pocket clip. There are some very attractive pencils in this series that are well worth collecting and using.
