Parker 51 Pens - These are one of the best pens ever made. They are well balanced, sleek, and have a simple slip cap. The nibs are hooded to allow faster drying inks to be used. Most have fine or extra fine nibs and they have a firm feel similar to using a ball point. This makes them excellent for new fountain pen users that have been using ball points or roller ball pens.

There are two distinct types of fillers. The first is the Vacumatic filler that is the same as the system used in the late model Vacumatics. These have a rubber diaphragm that will require replacing every few years. They also tend to have the blue diamond pocked clip. The later filler is an aerometic type that can last for decades. They are simple and durable. The pens usually have the later type pocket clips like those pictured above.

The colors will be the common ones like black, gray, brown, blue, etc. The caps are lustraloy, brushed steel or maybe chrome depending on availability. The nibs will be solid 14k gold unless you request an alloy nib or a Parker 51 Special. The pens are fine and better condition. They have been restored to near new condition. They are used pens and will have a few small cosmetic problems but most will be barely noticeable. None will have bad scratches, dings, cracks, or engravings. These will be great users. If you want more than one then I will try to make them different if possible. You can add a gold filled cap to your pen for an additional cost. Just add the cap before you check out.

Parker 51 pens have nibs that are much finer than modern pens. A typical medium nib is closer to a fine on a modern Duofold. If you learned to write using a ballpoint or roller ball pen and have no experience with fine nibs you might want to consider a medium or wider.

After you add a pen to your shopping cart just make a note of the nib size that you want and the color for the pen.
